Unblock Your Nose

Having a blocked nose is a major problem with people who have symptoms of hyperventilation, such as asthma, snoring, hay fever and panic attacks, so try the following to see if you can get your nose clear naturally:

  • After a gentle and normal breath out close your mouth if it is open and pinch your nostrils closed so that all air in your airways is contained.
  • Taking good care of your neck,  gently nod your head until you want to breathe.
  • When you want to breathe, keep your mouth closed, remove your hand from your nose and breathe in and out softly through your nose if possible.
  • If your nose is clear enough for you to breathe easily through it, then keep your mouth closed and continue to use the part of your face that is best designed for breathing.
  • If your nose is still blocked, then repeat the exercise a few times to see if you can get your nose clear enough so that it is comfortable to breathe through
As a general rule, the nose is one of those things that works best when it is used often, so try to breathe through your nose as much as you can.
