Teach Buteyko

Course curriculum

The Buteyko New Zealand practitioner training course is designed to teach adults from all walks of life a wide variety of skills that have two primary goals:

  1. Trainees have the confidence to teach the Buteyko Method safely, without jeopardising the health of their clients or doctor-patient relationships.
  2. To provide trainees with proven ideas that they can use to run and promote their business.

These skills are taught step-by-step, with plenty of time for feedback and additional tuition for those who find some of the steps more difficult.

Training outline

The Buteyko New Zealand training programme is based on an easy-to-learn teaching plan where theory and practical work are taught on the same day so that the theory makes more sense to the trainee.

“I thought the training was very well planned and executed. I particularly liked the way I got to experience the class, practice the homework and have time to talk about the philosophies of Buteyko and why and how it works. In other words, learning how to teach and why we teach it and what I needed to know about asthmatics and other people with breathing disorders and the drug information."

Who can teach the Buteyko method?

Konstantin Buteyko spent well over half of his life fighting the medical profession in the USSR because he looked at basic physiology from a different angle to the conventional stance. Because of the lack of acceptance of his theory, the people who taught his method were frequently not from a medical background, but instead they were people who had found the method so life-changing that they wanted to help others.
